Third Wave will not be harsh towards Children: A survey

In the light of growing fears and concerns that the third wave of novel Coronavirus will have a harsh impact on children, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) under the guidance of the global helath agency World Health Organization (WHO) conducted a serological surveillance.
As a piece of good news, the survey has stated that the possible third wave might not be a greater risk for children due to seroprevalence present in over 63 percent. There is no crucial data to prove that children will be vulnerable to the third wave.
The study was conducted between March 15 and June 10 on 4,509 participants. While 700 respondents were below the age of 18, the remaining people are above the age of 18.
Though the first wave of Covid was not our fault, we have to take the blame for the emergence of the second wave. After the first wave, we have let out Covid shiled down which in turn resulted in a crisis.
The crisis has hit the country so hard that the healthcare facilities were dried up and other countries are now lending a helping hand for us by sending medical supplies, including key equipment.
Irrespective of age group, lower seropositivity was reported in rural areas compared to the urban areas.Children in rural areas have also reported lower seropositivity than adults, which is not the case with urban areas.
