This BJP MP has a master plan up his sleeve
By: Tupaki Desk | 15 Nov 2019 4:58 AM GMTNizamabad MP Aravind Dharmapuri is proving to be a cool operator. Without much ado, he is trying to emerge as a powerful leader in the Telangana BJP. After stunning heavyweight Kavitha Kalwakuntla in the MP elections, he has been consolidating his position as a leader of substance. Remember he was the only BJP leader, who stood by Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay when the latter was manhandled by the police.
He is now working hard to prove his hold on the party in his constituency. He is working hard in galvanising the party for the upcoming municipal elections. The Lok Sabha constituency has Nizamabad municipal corporation and municipal councils in Kamareddy, Bheemgal, Armoor, Bodhan and Banswada. Aravind is focusing on Nizamabad and Kamareddy, the two biggest civic bodies. He is holding ward-wise meetings and is activating the party apparatus. By winning the maximum civic bodies in the undivided Nizamabad district, he wants to tighten his grip on the party in the region. This will help him in staking claim to the party state president's post, say sources close to him.
Aravind Dharmapuri, a Munnuru Kapu leader, has the complete backing of his father D Srinivas, who is a former minister, former PCC chief and currently a TRS MLC. Srinivas, who has always represented Nizamabad, has considerable hold on the community in particular and the voters in Nizamabad in general.
