This Ex-CM Cries Again
By: Tupaki Desk | 28 Nov 2019 4:47 AM GMTKarnataka's former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy has turned a cry baby again. Kumaraswamy, who is known to shed tears at the slightest of the reasons, has cried once again. And what was he shedding tears for? He was crying for the defeat of his son Nikhil Gowda six months ago.
Kumaraswamy was addressing a party workers meet in KR pet constituency ahead of the upcoming byelections to 15 seats in the assembly. KR Pet is one of the 15 seats that will go for the bypolls. Talking about his son's shock defeat, he suddenly turned teary eyed and could not control his emotions. He said that Nikhil's defeat has left him devastated. "What mistake did I do? Why did the people of Mandya punish me so severely?" he asked even while shedding tears. Kumaraswamy has cried even as a chief minister. The JDU is now fighting with its back to the wall. Winning the bypolls is crucial for the party and a defeat would further weaken the JDS in Karnataka.
Kumaraswamy's son Nikhil Gowda lost from the Vokkaliga citadel of Mandya to BJP backed independent Sumalatha in the Lok Sabha elections. The only seat the party could win was the Haasan seat, which was given to his brother Revanna's son.
