This Mayor Is Not A Doer, Say Citizens

When she was made the mayor, there were high expectations because her father is a key leader in the ruling TRS. His vast experience in administration and public life, it was thought, would come handy for her. But, she is not seen as a doer. What more? She is not even seen to be active in public affairs.
But, being the head of the biggest city in both the Telugu states and being at the help of a corporation whose budget is a whopping Rs 6000 crore, one expected Gadwal Vijayalakshmi to be more active. Except for a couple of government programmes, she is not seen anywhere outside. Not just that, she is not even attending important review meets. Recently, she skipped the review meetings on the development works in Ambarpet constituency. The general public are now comparing her stint with the stint of former mayor Bonthu Rammohan. Rammohan was quite active and used to escalate every important issue to the then municipal affairs minister KTR. He was seen as a doer.
Some of her comments have also not endeared Gadwal Vijayalakshmi to the people living in the GHMC area. The GHMC is seen as being quite inactive in the second phase. In the first phase it was seen as being quite pro-active and ready to walk the extra mile. Now under Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, it it is being seen as quite inactive. Will the mayor step out and show that she is a doer?
