Secunderabad cantonment MLA Sayanna is a great survivor. He was an MLA during the TDP rule. Later, he switched to the TRS and won twice. But this time things may be different as one of his most loyal follower, who commands considerable clout, has left him.
Sayanna himself credits many of his victories to senior politician Shankar Rao. But on Friday, Shankar Rao shocked Sayanna when he was the chief guest at the birth anniversary of Atal Bihari Vajpayee and then formally joined the BJP in the presence of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy. KB Shankar Rao has considerable influence in several parts of the cantonment and is known for his hard work.
Sources say that this would be a big blow to Sayanna, who has been winning continuously from the Contonment. Shankar Rao came with his followers to the Arya Vysya Abhyudaya Sangham where the programme was being organized and joined the BJP.
