This Pilgrimage to become Liquor-free?

The decision was taken during the meeting of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) trust board reportedly.
TTD Trust board chairman Y V Subba Reddy while addressing the media that the board has decided to impose a ban on liquor in Tirupati.
'A proposal will be sent to the state government for the consent of the Chief Minister to make Tirupati liquor-free,' said Subba Reddy.
In Tirumala liquor is banned since several decades. As Tirupati is also happens to be the prime pilgrim city, we have resolved in the board to observe total liquor ban in Tirupati also, he added.
He also said that to protect the environment of Tirumala, by next Sankranti the town will be plastic-free.
After redesigning the project gets completed, Garuda Varadhi at Alipiri will be resumed.
The board has also decided to construct a Spiritual City in Tirupati, including increasing the ticket counters count, a spiritual theatre that showcases the animated version of mythology for the children. Reportedly this will reduce the stress of the pilgrims standing in the queue lines.
