This village in Telangana implements self-lockdown with a rise in Covid-19 cases

Given the rise in infections at an alarming level, the Sirpur village in Telangana imposed a self-lockdown for a period of 15 days. All the eateries and other places have been shut.
The self-imposed lockdown came into active on Saturday. Buka Govind Naik, Sirpur Sarpanch said, the decision was taken to prevent the further spread of the virus.
Except for emergency purposes, the villagers were asked to not travel outside the village during the lockdown period. However, the villagers can come out of their house between 6 to 10 am and 5 to 9 pm, so that they can buy commodities for their daily use.
Directing the villagers to not gather in groups during the time allotted to buy essentials, the Village Panchayat has also announced that people who violate the Covid-19 restrictions like not wearing facemask and others will be slapped with a fine of Rs 1,000.
