TRS might be winning not less than 85 seats in the Telangana Assembly Polls 2018 as per the polling trends. However, The Ruling Party received a shock in the form of defeats faced by two of its Cabinet Ministers.

Thummala Nageswara Rao faced defeat in Paleru Constituency. Here, Congress Candidate Kandala Upendar Reddy won with a majority of 1,980 votes.

In 2014 Polls, Thummala faced defeat contesting on TDP Ticket. TRS offered Ministry to the Senior Politician for strengthening the party in Khammam District. In the by-poll post the death of Congress sitting MLA Ram Reddy Venkat Reddy, Thummala won with a majority of 45,682 votes contesting on TRS Ticket. He took the responsibility of helping TRS win majority of the seats in Khammam in the Assembly Polls 2018. To his shock, He himself failed to win in the election.

Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, a 5-time MLA, faced defeat in Kollapur in Mahbubnagar Constituency. Congress Candidate Harshavardhan emerged victorious. This is the only seat TRS failed to win in Mahbubnagar District.

After losing the election by a margin of around 3,000 votes, Jupally told that TRS Leaders had worked against him in this election and that's the reason behind his defeat. 'I am not feeling bad about what has happened. Will take rest,' he said while speaking to media.
