Tightening up H-1B visas; could be a blessing in disguise!

In India, especially southern part that is, in our Telugu states, every household produces one engineer at least and most of them try to be certified Computer programmers and wish to fly off to other countries, majorly USA. This has become a problem for Americans and they have been trying to impose as many laws as possible to at least secure entry level jobs for their own citizens. With new President Trump, taking over the reins, he has been the man on mission to restrict immigration and the major exploited category as per reports from various sources is the H-1B visas.

H-1B allows a skilled worker to enter USA and work as per the norms of the company and country. If the worker deemed highly skilled and useful, he can extend his stay even after the initial tenure. Major consulting companies from India in collaboration with USA companies exploit this category and try to send in as many workers as possible who could just be qualified as entry-level employees rather than experts. Reports have suggested that more than 12% of the applicants for H-1B from various consultancies as computer programmers were of the entry-level specialisation with maximum two years of experience.

American employees have raised their objections towards this stating that several companies in order to decrease costs have been importing candidates who doesn't qualify as certified programmers as much as they claim to be. With the new regulations, which specify the employers to specify the need for an expert to fill up the said position. According to those regulations, the employers have to submit extra proof regarding the position that it requires such an expertise and the applicant is the right one for the job. No longer entry level jobs and applications will be entertained as easy as they were all these years.

Well, this could be a blessing in disguise for many employees who wish to settle abroad as they will have to concentrate on improving their knowledge rather than spending hours taking language coaching to impress the US Authorities. Even employers too can shed off the bad reputation that they have earned over the years trying to manipulate the system.
