Tirupati By-Poll: TDP registers record victory!

TDP registers an emphatic victory in the Tirupati by-elections which took place due to the death of sitting MLA M Venkataramana.
The ruling party fielded late Venkataramana's wife Mannuru Suguna in by-poll and she won with a record margin of 1,16, 524 votes. While her opponent R Sreedevi managed just 9,628 votes only to end up losing deposit, Lok Satta candidate K Balasubramanyam received 3,819 votes and Independents too failed to leave a mark. About 2,152 voters preferred None Of The Above (NOTA) option in the by-election.
