MLA snatches Speaker's Mace in Assembly

Unusual scenes were witnessed on the last day of Winter Session of Tripura Assembly. Opposition MLAs disrupted the proceedings seeking the resignation of Forest Minister Naresh Jamatia following allegations of sexual abuse.
TMC MLA Sudip Roy Barman stunned everyone in the House by snatching the ceremonial mace and ran away after Speaker refused to allow discussion on the allegations against the Cabinet Minister. Marshalls were able to got hold of the mace replicating India's national emblem outside the exit door. This was thirst such instance where mace was snatched by a member in the history of Tripura Assembly.
Recently, Expelled CPI(M) Leader Joy Kishore Jamatia alleged Former Minister Naresh Jamatia has committed sexual offences. He also accused Naresh Jamatia of conspiring against loyal CPI(M) Leaders.
