To curb air pollution, Delhi Govt proposes few suggestions
By: Tupaki Desk | 16 Nov 2021 1:07 PM GMTAs directed by the country's top court, the Supreme Court, the Commission For Air Quality Management held a joint meeting with the governments of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and the national capital Delhi took part in the crucial meeting on Tuesday.
Talking about the measures to deal with the air pollution, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai said the Delhi government had suggested steps like asking the employees in Delhi-NCR to take up work from home while shutting down the industries in the region.
The Minister said, imposing a ban on the construction work and industries to fight air pollution. We are hopeful that these measures would help in bringing down the pollution levels in the region.
It has to be noted that the Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had earlier proposed that they are ready to go for the complete lockdown to deal with the pollution. The government also said the shutdown of educational institutions is also a good measure.
The national capital Delhi, which has the worst air quality in the country, faced the worst situation after the Diwali celebrations. The situation reached a point where a few nonsmokers were admitted to hospitals with a dip in the O2 levels.
