Toofan first week report: Disaster!

The first week shares of 'Toofan' have been very disappointing if the star power of Ram Charan is taken into consideration. While his recent hits (Racha, Naayak) collected a share of over Rs 25 crore in the first week alone in AP, 'Toofan' couldn't even manage to generate at least half of that revenue and ended for just Rs 11.06 crore.
Even the Hindi version 'Zanjeer' collected just Rs 15 crore in the first week despite getting 2,000-odd screens. The result of this bilingual has once again proven that content matters the most on any day.
Apoorva Lakhia failed to recreate the magic of Amitabh Bachchan's 'Zanjeer'. Eventually, Charan paid a huge price for wrongly judging the potential of the script and capabilities of the director. With 'Zanjeer', Mega Powerstar learnt the biggest lesson of his life.

Total Worlwide (Share): Rs 16.20 crore (AP - Rs 11.06 crore; Overseas - Rs 2.56 crore; Karnataka - Rs 1.90 crore; Rest Of India - Rs 0.65 crore).
