Top Director blasts Media
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 March 2013 9:06 PM GMTAce filmmaker Gautham Menon came down heavily on media misrepresentation of facts over the current remunerations of leading directors. "Wow. My filmmaking skills are worth 4 crores is it? My friends from engineering will be jealous and some happy. Who are your sources? Do you people have any idea? Who gives you the right to print such stuff?," he shot back.
The director breathed fire at the magazine for quoting that the market value of Mani Ratnam touched all time low and for finding fault with director Bala who recently bought a house in posh locality. "Pegged market value for Mani sir? Is that even done? I mean, these guys can write anything for the public to read? Is that even allowed? Some days ago you guys criticised national award winning director bala sir about his buying a house in poes garden. So? What's your problem. If Bala sir talks about making films on the poor and the downtrodden, he shouldn't live in a decent place is it?," reacts Gautham Menon.
"We don't want any response from anybody. Just leave us alone. Our films ran for hundred days when their columns weren't even thought of," adds the filmmaker who complains media invading the privacy of directors with it's baseless speculation.
