Director Sekhar Kammula kickstarted the shoot of Bollywood hit 'Kahaani' remake on April 28th in Hyderabad.
Nayantara is playing the lead in this Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual in which her character name is chosen as 'Anamika'. This untitled flick is jointly produced by Endermol India, Logline Productions and Select Media Holdings.
Though the original has a Kolkata backdrop, Sekhar Kammula preferred a Old City in Hyderabad for the remake. He made necessary changes to the script to suit sensibilities of the local audience. The shooting of the film will be wrapped up in less than 50 days.
Anushka was considered for the film initially, but she backed off due to her other commitments. Later, this offer has fallen on Nayan's lap. 'Kahaani' is solid script and if handled properly, this film has the potential to set the cash registers ringing down South as well.
