New DTH Rules From Feb 1st: What Changed?
X
New Rules of TRAI for Cable Operators and DTH which include Tata Sky, Airtel Digital TV and Dish TV will come into effect from Today, February 1st. Which means, Subscribes will be able to watch the channels for which they have made the payment as per the available packs.

Does that mean there will be a blackout if the Subscribers don't opt for channel packs under TRAI's new rule? TRAI issued a clarification that migration from old framework to new framework will be smooth and there won't be any blackouts. Connections willn't be terminated even if a subscriber doesn't opt for the new channel packs by February 1st.

Discussions have been continuing among DTH Operators regarding the Consumers who have already paid for beyond monthly subscriptions.

As per TRAI New Rules, 100 Channels will be offered with basic monthly fee of Rs 130. Inclusion of 18 percent GST brings the total to 153. Consumers who aren't content with these 100 Channels should pay more depending on the packs they select for viewing additional channels. DTH Operators have been coming up with their own packs to make the process of shifting to new framework easier for their Subscribers.
