15-year-old student of Govt School found pregnant

15-year-old student of a government school was found to be five months pregnant, sending shock waves among the officials and the school authorities
The girl is a tribal student of a government-run residential school in Odisha's Kandhamal district. A case of rape was registered against a distant relative of the girl. School authorities came to know about the pregnancy of the girl during a routine health check-up last week.
The girl was apparently reluctant to reveal the matter earlier due to fear but later revealed all the details. The girl reportedly said she was sexually assaulted allegedly by the youth who is her distant relative when she was visiting her relatives during a recent vacation.
The mother of the girl lodged a complaint against a youth accusing him of having raped her daughter. The efforts are on to trace the accused who is stated to be working in Kerala. A committee has been formed by the district collector to inquire into the incident.
