Trinamool MLA Dares Mamta Didi, Says Modi Is 'Head Of The Family'
By: Tupaki Desk | 4 Dec 2020 4:13 AM GMTTrouble seems to be brewing for the Trinamool Congress in West Bengal as more and more MLAs are raising their banners of revolt. Soon after Suvendu Adhikar, the MLA of Nandigram who is an influential power in about 50 MLA seats in the state, has resigned the party, there are apprehensions are more leaders are out to join the BJP. Suvendu too is likely to go over to the BJP, the main rival to the TMC.
Meanwhile, another Trinamool MLA has strongly opposed the party's slogan that calls Prime Minister Narendra Modi an outsider. Baishali Dalmiya, a TMC MLA from Bally, said Modi can never be an outsider as he is the Prime Minister of the whole country. She said that she was strongly opposed to the TMC slogan of not giving tickets to outsiders. 'Then who am I?' she asked. Baishali Dalmia is the daughter of cricket baron late Jagmohan Dalmiya and is a Marwari settled in West Bengal.
Several Trinamool MLAs and other leaders are looking towards the BJP ahead of the elections which will take place early 2021. The BJP has emerged as a strong contender in the upcoming elections challenging the Trinamool hegemony in West Bengal politics.
