TRS Begins Mind Games In Dubbaka
By: Tupaki Desk | 10 Oct 2020 4:32 AM GMTThe ruling TRS has begun the psychological operations in Dubbak ahead of the bypoll to weaken and decimate the Congress Party. Realising that the Congress Party has better organisational infrastructure as it candidate Srinivas Reddy's father is a several times-MLA from Dubbak, the TRS weaned away two key Congress leaders.
Both the leaders are locally powerful and stood by the Congress even when it was continuously being defeated. The resignation of such leaders is sure to mentally weaken the Congress cadre, besides weaning away a section of the supporters away from the party. The leaders who defected to the TRS are – B Manohara Rao and Narasimha Reddy.
Interestingly, the TRS timed the defections to coincide with the launch of the campaign by the Congress party biggies – state president Uttam Kumar Reddy, working president Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The news of the defections predictably got more media coverage than the Congress campaign launch.
Harish Rao also tried to portray the Congress as anti-woman by claiming that Uttam Kumar Reddy had called Solipeta Sujatha, the TRS candidate as inefficient. He said Reddy should apologise to Sujatha for these comments.
