TRS Blocking BjP Moves In GHMC
By: Tupaki Desk | 21 Oct 2020 3:48 AM GMTIs the TRS wary of the growing strength of the BJP in GHMC? Does it feel that a possible BJP victory in Dubbak could boost the party's prospects in GHMC? Is this the reason why the TRS is trying to pre-empt the BJP moves in GHMC?
TRS internal surveys themselves have said that the BJP would definitely get more votes in the GHMC this time. This means that the BJP could emerge as the second largest party and as a future alternative to the TRS-MIM combine. So, the TRS boss is treading cautiously and is ensuring that the BJP does not get any political weapon.
So, KCR, through his quick silver moves, has ensured that the BJP does not have any emotional issues for the GHMC. Realising that the BJP would make September 17 an issue, the TRS boss has got the assembly adjourned a day before September 17, the liberation day. Thus, he robbed the BJP of an opportunity to use the floor of the assembly as a medium to spread its message.
Similarly, the TRS backtracked on relaxing the two-child norm for contesting the GHMC elections. The move was aimed at helping the MIM, whose workers normally ignore the two-child norm. But, KCR realized that by doing this, he would be giving an handy weapon to the BJP. So, he backtracked from it at the last moment.
