TRS Declares DS and Captain for RS

Ruling TRS pastry of Telangana state has finalized its Nominees for upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.TRS party has zeroed in on senior leader D. Srinivas and Captain Laxmikantha Rao for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections which will be held on June 11. Two seats falling vacant for Rajya Sabha from Telanagana state as the term of V Hanumantu Rao and Gundu Sudha Rani comes to end.
D Srinivas is currently serving as adviser of Telanagana state. Party sources said that KCR want to use services of DS at the national level and promoted the leader for RS.Meanwhile Captain Lakshmi Kanta Rao is one of the senior leader in party and associated with KCR since its inception. Earlier he served as minister in the Congress government during 2004-06.
TRS now has 85 MLAs including defected leaders from other parties. A party gets one RS seat if it has 41 MLAs and it will be a cake walk for TRS to secure those two seats.With TRS holding sufficient number of MLAs the election of Srinivas and captain is almost confirmed.
On the other hand, Congress is unable to even field a candidate. Meanwhile TRS decided to nominate Fariduddin for the MLC post which fall vacant after resignation of Tummala Nageswar Rao.
