TRS focusing on only one Graduates Constituency?
By: Tupaki Desk | 13 Jan 2021 4:13 AM GMTFaced with a string of reversals in the election battles, the ruling TRS in Telangana is now pinning all its hopes on the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates constituency. It sees that it stands little chance in Hyderabad-Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy constituency as BJP's Ramachandra Rao has the first mover advantage. It now desperately wants to win the Warangal seat at any cost.
The biggest hope for the TRS lies in the division of the anti-TRS votes. Several big names like Prof Kodanda Ram, Dr Cheruku Sudhakar, TV personality Teenmar Mallanna and former anchor Rani Rudrama are in the fray and all of them are harping on the anti-TRS theme. To add to this, the BJP too has pitched in with anti-TRS argument and old warhorse Premender Reddy has been pitted. With all these anti-TRS forces eating into each other's votes, the TRS may get through quite easily.
The TRS candidate is Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, who is a sitting MLC. The party feels that winning from Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahabubnagar constituency may not be easy, while division of votes might help it in Warangal. The party is marshalling all its resources for Warangal. As for Hyderabad, the TRS is yet to name its candidate. Till now there seems to be confusion over who will be given party ticket.
