TRS following PKs three-pronged strategy

It appears the ruling TRS is taking Prashant Kishor's advice a tad too seriously. The party has upped its ante in the run up to the assembly elections and appears to have adopted a three-pronged strategy to win the elections. The TRS is trying to promote regionalism on one hand and is equally talking about the national issues on the other.

The party is planning to rake up regionalism by talking about amalgamating Raichur from Karnataka. At the same time, it is trying project Telangana as a model state. The attempts of KTR to question Bengaluru's status as the IT capital of India and his comments on the condition of the roads in Andhra Pradesh are aimed at creating regional tensions. Through this, he is planning to raise the pitch for Telangana local sentiment.

At the same time, the party is also planning to raise national issues like paddy procurement, setting up of AIIMS and the sharing of GST collections. These are aimed at both raising local feeling as well creating a front against Modi. The party hopes to raise several issues and put the national parties, especially, the ruling BJP, on the mat.

The party has also started activating its social media teams. The IT wing of the TRS has become very pro-active in churning out anti-BJP content. Recent rebuttals of the BJP by the IT wing of the TRS are being seen as pilot projects. TRS sources say that more such massive campaigns are on the anvil. In the days to come, expect the TRS to be more active on all the three fronts.
