The ruling TRS is suffering from an acute form of groupism and internal bickering in the Wyra assembly constituency in Khammam district. While most assembly constituencies in Khammam suffer from groupism, the problem is more acute in Wyra. The party is divided into three groups and each group is trying to undercut the other group.

The three groups are led by sitting MLA Ramulu Naik, former MLA and Telangana Public Service Commission former member Cahndravati and former MLA Madan Lal. All the three are from the Lambadi community and have their respective spheres of influence. This is further worsening the situation in Wyra.

Chandravathi was CPI MLA in 2009. An MBBS, Banot Chandravathi later joined the TRS in 2014 and contested elections on the TRS ticket. However, she lost to YSRCP candidate Madan Lal. Later, Madan Lal too joined the TRS. This led to intense group rivalry among the two. To solve the issue, the TRS boss made Chandravathi a member of the TSPSC. In 2018, independent candidate Ramulu Naik won. Later, he joined the TRS. Thus, three rival groups have been formed in Wyra.

All the three are claiming that they would be the party's candidate in the 2023 elections. However, sources say that KCR is preferring Chandravathi. Meanwhile, there are reports that Ramulu Naik is in touch with Revanth Reddy and is planning to join the Congress Party. Even Madan Lal is said to be planning to leave the TRS. Because of these developments, there is utter confusion among the party cadres in Wyra and they want the TRS leadership to address this issue immediately so that the damage could be contained.
