TRS Is Pulling Rug From Under This Congress MLA's Feet
By: Tupaki Desk | 29 Aug 2020 10:19 AM ISTThe only Congress MLA from Nalgonda district, Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy, seems to be in deep trouble. He is losing his close associates and loyalists one by one. The TRS has begun poaching into his support base in a big way.
Of the 12 assembly constituencies in Nalgonda district, only Munugodu had voted for the Congress. The remaining went into the TRS kitty. Ever since the results were out, the TRS has been trying to nibble away the support base of Komatireddy. His influential friend and Chanduru ZPTC member Karnati Venkatesh and Marriguda MPP Mohan Reddy have already joined the TRS, while several Congress surpanches too have followed suit. As a result, Komatireddy has lost some of his best backers. He is now feeling the pinch in the constituency.
However, sources say that the problem likes in Komatireddy's political moves. Soon after winning from Munugode, he began making pro-BJP noises giving the impression that he was going to join the saffron party. This caused confusion among the loyal followers. Though Komatireddy later clarified that he would remain with the party, the damage was already done.
