Gulabi Coolie Collections Get IT Notices

The ruling TRS in Telangana was shocked when the IT sleuths served notices on them seeking details of the huge amounts it collected through the 'Gulabi Coolie' programme it organised three years ago. Notices were served on several key leaders including KTR, Harish Rao, Etela Rajender, Nayini Narsimha Reddy and Mehmood Ali. This has led to intense debate in the TRS circles.
On April 27, 2017, the TRS workers held a massive Pragathi Nivedana Sabha in Warangal. To support the travel expenditure of the party cadres to the meeting, the TRS leaders had undertaken 'nominal' coolie works ad collected huge funds. The leaders made a big show of this and ensured that their 'labour work' got maximum mileage in the media. However, Congress leader and MP Revanth Reddy had complained that this 'fund collection drive' was in contravention to the Anti Corruption Act 1988 and People's Representative Act 1951. He had also approached the courts of law.
As part of the Gulabi Coolie, the then Minister Padma Rao had earned Rs 38.50 lakh by selling fish in Tukaramgate of Secunderabad, while the then Chief Whip Gongidi Sunitha Reddy watered the plants in Yadagirigutta mandal's Mallapur and got Rs 1 lakh. MLA G Kishore carried rice bags on his back to earn Rs 75000 and sold tea to earn Rs 25000. The then deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari and MLA Dasyam Vinaybhasker earned Rs 1 lakh each through 'working' with Moksha Infra Constructions. Errabelli Dayakar Rao has earned Rs 10 lakh by working in a wine shop. KTR has earned Rs 7 lakh by selling ice creams, while Harish Rao earned Rs 6.27 lakh by working in a rice mill.
Now the TRS leaders are shocked by the IT notices and are discussing about how to reply to these notices.
