An old alleged drug case resulted in a ruling party legislator receiving summons from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in which the central agency directed the MLA to be present at the officers on the prescribed date so that the statement can be recorded which will come in handy in probing the matter.

As per the media reports, Telangana MLA Pilot Rohith Reddy reportedly received the summons in collection with a drug case that was unearthed in Bengaluru back in 2021. In the summons, he was asked to be present in front of the investigating officers on the 19th of this month.

Though the case investigation has been going on since last year, the MLA receiving summons all of a sudden became a big topic now. It is said that the MLA reportedly said he received the summons and he is ready to submit the evidence the officers sought.

The alleged case was unearthed in Bengaluru last year when the cops received information on drug abuse at a party. The party was reportedly thrown by a producer and a few others were arrested. Reports say that the MLA was connected to this and he was served a summons in connection with the case.

The alleged drug abuse became a big topic in the country after the demise of Bollywood actor Sushanth Singh Rajput. A few actors were also arrested in various cases. The drug bust in Bengaluru became a big sensation back then as a producer was involved in this and a few people were arrested.

Pilot Rohith Reddy was in the news recently with the alleged MLAs poaching row in Telangana. It was the MLA who complained to the cops about the attempt made by a few people who are said to be the agents of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

The accused were arrested and the case investigation is going on. The Telangana government constituted a special SIT to probe the matter. Hyderabad CP CV Anand is heading the Special Investigating Team which is investigating the matter. The body already gathered crucial information including the alleged WhatsApp chats. One MLA was offered Rs 100 crores reportedly.
