Why are TRS MLAs Ignoring KCR Call For Atmeeya Sammelanams?
By: Tupaki Desk | 25 Dec 2022 7:06 AM GMTWhy are TRS MLAs and ministers ignoring Chief Minister KCR's call? Why are they not organizing well-wishers' meetings in their constituencies? Why the MLAs and ministers prefer to wait and watch on the issue of organizing well-wishers' meetings in their areas? TRS thinking heads are now splitting their heads on the issue.
In fact, Chief Minister KCR found these well-wishers' meetings very useful during the Munugode bypolls. He got such meetings organized on caste and geographical lines. This has proved to be very beneficial in mobilizing voter support. The Munugode result in the ruling party's favour has only proved this for the party's strategy planners.
Hence, KCR asked party MLAs and constituency incharges to hold such meetings extensively in their respective areas. He wanted such meetings to be held at every village level. However, the response has been very lukewarm. Not many MLAs have come forward to hold such meetings. Some leaders did organize some token meetings and then kept quiet.
Insiders say that the MLAs are wary of spending huge amounts on such meetings. On an average, a minister may have to spend close to Rs 1.5 crore on such meetings. The MLAs are of the opinion that there is no use spending such huge amounts now. They feel that the expenditure could be made during the time of the elections and not now.
Also, several MLAs are not sure whether they would get the party ticket in the 2023 elections. In case, they are denied tickets, what will become of these huge investments for the atmeeya sammelanams. They feel that they would take steps only when their tickets are fully confirmed.
