MLCs abstain from TRS Palle Pragathi programme

The Pattana and Palle Pragathi programme of the TRS has begun amid much fanfare. The programme, aimed at explaining the party and the government's programmes to the people and to take stock of the general problems of the people, is off to a flying start. But, there lies a catch. The MLCs and the MPs are keeping away from the programmes.
While the MLAs and the ministers are all over the place, the MLCs are not to be seen. On the inaugural day, there were a couple of MLCs. But, from the second day onwards the MLCs have become conspicuous by their absence. This has now become a hot topic of discussion among both the general public and the TRS cadre.
Interestingly, the TRS leadership has asked all the elected people's representatives to actively take part in the Palle and Pattana Pragathi programme. Despite the fiat, the MLCs have chosen to stay away. Sources say that the MLCs are choosing to stay away as the reins of the whole programme are in the hands of the MLAs and the MLCs have literally no role to play.
Sources also say that the MLCs are unable to attend the programme as there is no invitation from the MLAs. In several instances, the MLAs have openly told the MLCs not to interfere in their work. TRS insiders say that the MLAs are none to happy is the MLCs take a lead role in the Palle and Pattana Pragathi programmes.
If the same trend continues, the party would face huge trouble in the upcoming elections, say sources. They feel it is about time the party leadership corrects this and sets the house in order.
