TRS To Join NDA After Bengal, Assam Elections?

The political circles in the national capital of Delhi are abuzz with the talk of the TRS joining the NDA front. The rumour mill says that during the last visit to Delhi, KCR had offered to join the NDA and become BJP's trusted partner.

Sources say that he had offered to give 10 out of the 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana to the BJP. Thus the TRS was to become the junior partner at the Centre. At the state level, he reportedly proposed to give 25 seats to the BJP and form a coalition government. Sources say that KCR was rattled by the rise of the BJP. He did not expect the BJP to rise so rapidly. So, he wanted to join the NDA to protect his party.

However, the BJP top leadership is wary of KCR's proposal because of his mercurial politics. But, sources say that the national leadership of the BJP is cagey about embracing TRS with open arms. The party's national leadership has not reacted to the proposal so far. But, insiders say that the BJP is waiting for the results of the upcoming assembly elections in four states. If the BJP retains power in Assam and displaces West Bengal, then it would reject the TRS proposal. In case the results go against the expectations, the party might accept the TRS into the NDA.
