Why TRS Is Worried Over Weak Congress In Dubbak?
By: Tupaki Desk | 30 Oct 2020 12:20 PM GMTIs the Congress Party losing its way in Dubbak? Though it began amid much fanfare and had lot of good will for the candidate, it soon lost its way. Despite stalwarts like Uttam Kumar Reddy and Revanth Reddy campaigning vigorously for the party, the Congress is losing steam.
Sources say that the voters seem to have nagging doubts about what will the Congress candidate, if elected, will do. Most of the winning Congress candidates have joined the TRS quickly and became part of the very establishment against whom they fought. Thus, they have betrayed the mandate of the people who voted for them. Hence the voters seem to be feeling wary of the Congress Party.
But, more than the Congress, it is the TRS which is worried about the weakening of the Congress campaign. The ruling TRS wants the Congress to perform well. The reason? If it performs well, it would help split the anti-TRS votes in the bypoll. But if the Congress gets weakened, at least a section of the anti-TRS vote will go to the BJP. This will help in the consolidation of the anti-TRS votes behind the BJP. So, if sources are to be believed, it is the TRS which trying to breathe life into the Congress campaign these days.
