Truck Symbol Costed TRS Dearly
By: Tupaki Desk | 14 Dec 2018 10:38 AM GMTElection Symbol is very crucial for any political party. There were times when similar looking Election Symbols costed parties dearly in the past. That's what happened to TRS in the recent Assembly Polls as well.
In Telangana Assembly Polls 2018, TRS and All India Forward Bloc Party (ALFB) contested on Car and Truck Symbols respectively. As both the symbols have similarities, Many of the TRS Supporters have unknowingly voted for the Forward Bloc Party. Eventually, Winning chances of few TRS Candidates got ruined and several other candidates hadn't got desired majority.
For example, TRS Candidate and Congress Candidate received 85,000 votes and 93,000 votes respectively in Nakrekal Constituency. ALFB Candidate got more than 10,000 votes. TRS claim most of these votes have been cast for the TRS Party itself.
Former TRS Whip Koppula Eshwar won with a slight majority of 441 votes in Dharmapuri. ALFB Candidate managed to get 12,000 votes. Most of these votes have been polled for the TRS Candidate itself but close resemblance played the spoilsport.
Election Commission should take measures to prevent such confusion among the voters. Only then, Fair Elections can happen anywhere in the country.
