Trump says the US is very close to COVID-19 vaccine
By: Tupaki Desk | 24 April 2020 5:36 AM GMTUS President Donald Trump who is not leaving any stone unturned to combat the novel coronavirus has called for a press meet at the White House at said "we are very close to a vaccine" and noted that the trails for the vaccine are going on in the US, Germany, United Kingdom, and the Dragon Country China.
At the press briefing, Vice President Mike Pence and White House coronavirus taskforce co-ordinator Deborah Birx were also present reportedly.
"Unfortunately we're not very close to testing because when testing starts it takes a period of time, but we'll get it done," Donald Trump said.
Earlier, the top infectious diseases expert of US Dr. Anthony Fauci said that it will take at least 12to 18 months to get the vaccine approved for the dreaded COVID-19 virus.
Some media reports stated that around 4.93 coronavirus tests were conducted in the US while more than 1,00,000 tests were conducted at the commercial labs reportedly. Coincidentally, the US tops the list of both COVID-19 fatalities and positive cases.
