The government told the court that the existing OGH building has turned ramshackle and the building might pose a threat to patients' lives at the hospital.
The Counsel for the state government maintained that the government has decided to demolish the existing old hospital building and a multi-storeyed hospital will be constructed with all the latest technology.
Lawyers Satyam Reddy and Rachana Reddy representing the petitioners told the court that Osmania General Hospital is a heritage structure and it ould not be demolished. The counsels said that instead of demolishing the building can be repaired.
The counsels went on to say that if the government wants to construct a new building, they can build the building in the land that lies adjacent to the OGH building without demolishing the building.
After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the High Court adjourned the hearing of the case to September 8th.
