The Telangana High Court has shocked the Telangana government over its decision to go for the reopening of the educational institutions across the state. The High Court had stayed the Government Order (GO) issued by the Telangana government to reopen the educational institutions.

The Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that was filed challenging the G.O came to hearing on Tuesday. After the hearing, the High Court gave its orders.

The Court had directed the government not to reopen the schools for one week. Besides this, the government was also asked not to pressure the parents of the children to send their children for physics classes.

"The Gurukuls and hostels in the educational institutions should not be reopened until further notice. No action should be taken against the students for not appearing for the physical classes," the High Court said.

The Telangana government's decision to reopen the educational institutions in the state amid the fear of possible third wave of Covid did not go well with the parents of the students. They have been demanding that the physical classes should not be started soon.

Saying that it's not mandatory to reopen the schools in the state, the High Court said no one should force the students or parents to come for the physical classes.

The parents of the students are against the idea to start the physical classes. They are urging the government to not go ahead with the decision citing the Covid fear as the reason.

The Telangana Parents Association for Child Rights and Safety had started a new petition placing the demand to not start the physical classes. More than 3,000 parents have signed the petition.

The government had opted for the reopening of the educational institutions in a key meeting that was chaired on how to deal with the educational institutions.

A Government Order citing the same was issued by the government that says, the institutions will be reopened on the first of September. However, the High Court has put breaks to the government's decision. Now it has to be known what the High Court will do after one week as the stay was issued for a week.
