TSRTCs Attempt to Pacify the Passengers?

The hike in fuel prices is charging a bomb to everyone. Not just commuters, even the transport entities that are run by the government are facing the heat. With no option left, the RTC and other transport bodies are increasing fares citing the fuel hike as a reason. TSRTC is no exception to this.

Recently, the state-owned Telangana State Road Transport Corporation(TSRTC) announced a hike in ticket fares and reservation charges. Back-to-back hikes have drawn the ire of passengers who use RTC for various purposes.

Amid this, the RTC had come up with a new campaign to encourage people to use RTC for their commute. Using the current phenomenon of memes and edits, TSRTC had used the clip of Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava starring Young Tiger NTR and said that Veera Raghava opts for RTC for important occasions and asked what about the commuters.

Though TSRTC using the edited videos and memes to boost the TSRTC service is not new, the time when the new campaign came had raised a doubt about whether the transport corporation wanted to pacify the commuters with such advertisements.

The TSRTC went through a massive transformation after former Additional Director General of Police of Telangana V. C. Sajjanar was made the MD of RTC. After he took the position, he made sure that the RTC gets a good image in public and that people starts using the service.

Sajjanar also focused on providing bus services on various occasions. On the eve of New Year, Sajjanar announced that RTC buses will be run to advocate responsible drinking. Instead of drinking and driving, liquor lovers can use the services.

RTC buses were provided on selected routes. He has been doing a good job as the RTC MD for Telangana. On Vinayaka Chaturthi, he traveled on an RTC bus and took note of the complaints made by the commuters. He traveled on the RTC bus as a common man with the passengers and started a common conversation with the commuters. He was transferred to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation as a Managing Director under casual deportation. He had earlier worked with the Police Department.
