Two candidates file nomination for forthcoming Tirupati bypoll representing TDP

The much-awaited by-poll for the temple city Tirupati is just days away from now. Both the ruling and opposition parties have finalised the leaders who will contest the elections.

However, two candidates from the opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have filed their nominations for the forthcoming by-election. Former Minister Panabaka Lakshmi submitted her nomination papers to the returning officer.

According to the returning officer, one more person who goes by the name Seelam Tirupaiah has also submitted his nomination papers as a TDP candidate. This makes him the second contestant from the TDP.

The Tirupati Parliament Constituency is a Scheduled Caste (SC) reserved constituency. All the political parties in the states have taken the election seriously and the election and all eyes are on the constituency to know who will win the seat.

On the other hand, the ruling YSRCP has announced M. Gurumoorthy, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's personal physiotherapist as the party candidate for the upcoming by-election. He is expected to file his nomination next week.

The BJP-Janasena alliance is yet to pick a candidate for the elections. Janasena has backed out of the polls and will remain as a supporting factor in the elections and the Candidate picked by the BJP will represent the alliance.
