With the deadly Coronavirus pandemic showing no signs of getting diluted, the union government is said to be in plans of making huge changes to the existing vaccine procedure to fight the virus.

It has been widely reported that the government is gearing up for the mixing of vaccines developed by two vaccine manufacturers as the procedure assures a better immune response from the people who received the vaccine doses.

The union government is said to be considering the process of mixing two vaccine doses. The new development is expected to do wonders to the country concerning the fight with the Covid.

The government is focusing on the Covid vaccine mixing process as the National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI) reportedly advised the same to the Centre.

If the same comes into effect, it not only boosts the immune system of the people administered with the vaccines, but also helps in stocking up the vaccine doses and more people can be given the doses.

Keeping this in simple words, as of now India is administering vaccine doses to the beneficiaries that was manufactured by the same vaccine developer.

This will be changed as part of the proposed mixing of the vaccine doses. One can get Covishield as the first dose and can be administered with Sputnik V as the second dose.

Same goes with the other doses too, beneficiaries receiving Pfizer's covid vaccine for one dose can receive Moderna's shot for the second dose.

It is said that the studies conducted earlier on vaccine mix up yielded good results as the data shows in the better immune response while no side effects were displayed during the study.

Once the policy to mix up the vaccine doses gets approved, the beneficiaries are likely to given the option to select the vaccine doses they wanted to be administered with

The mixing of the vaccine doses is the need of the hour to India as the country has been reporting over 40,000 cases daily. After seeing over 40k cases for five consecutive days, India reported the same number of cases in the past 24 hours.
