Two Indians Executed In Saudi Arabia
By: Tupaki Desk | 17 April 2019 12:01 PM GMTTwo Indians identified as Satwinder Kumar of Hoshiarpur and Harjeet Singh of Ludhiana have been executed in Saudi Arabia for allegedly killing a fellow Indian. The Foreign Ministry confirmed that Two Indians were executed on February 28th this year.
Reportedly, Satwinder Kumar and Harjeet Singh murdered Arif Imamuddin over the dispute regarding the distribution of money post highway robbery. The Two Accused were arrested few days later for fighting under the influence of alcohol. Cops found the connection with the murder of Arif Imamuddin while carrying out the deportation formalities. Following which, They were lodged in Riyadh Jail.
Saudi Authorities hadn't informed the Indian Embassy in Riyadh prior to the executions. Information about the executions has been given only after Satwinder Kumar's Wife Seema Rani moved a petition. Saudi Officials sent a letter in which they informed Satwinder Kumar and Harjeet Singh were arrested on December 9th, 2019 for killing Arif Imamuddin.
Appeals made to bring back the mortal remains to India went in vein. As per Saudi Laws, Bodies of those executed won't be handed over to their families.
