UK To Go Into Strict Nationwide Lockdown, Amid New Strain Fear

The new strain of Coronavirus surfaced in Mid-September has been spreading in the United Kingdom at an alarming level. Britain added more than 50,000 fresh infections for seven days consecutively.
The drug controller has approved vaccines for emergency use under some restrictions. However, scientists are expressing their concerns over the potential of the vaccine that the vaccine may not work against the new strain.
Amid these developments, United Kingdom Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a nationwide lockdown once again to curb the infections. The lockdown will be effective from the early morning of Wednesday.
The Prime Minister announced the same in a televised address. The main idea behind imposing a harsh lockdown is to force the public to stay at home so that the situation gets under control.
The harsh lockdown will be effective for six weeks from Wednesday. The lockdown includes primary and secondary schools. Except for emergency purposes, the public should not step out of their houses.
