AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is on cloud nine upon receiving the first installment of funds from Union Government for Polavaram project through NABARD. Addressing the media persons at the Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi, He went on declare it as an unforgettable day in his life and one of the most happy days for people of AP upon receiving a cheque of Rs 1,982 crore from Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti.
Babu claimed Polavaram project is the lifeline of Andhra Pradesh as it's capable of making Rayalseema, Prakasam and Nellore districts drought-free. He is confident of wrapping the first phase of Polavaram by 2018 and entire project by 2019.
During bifurcation, Polavaram was announced as the National Project. NDA Government promised 100% sanction of funds to Polavaram as part of Special Package. AP Chief Minister is determined to complete the project before 2019 polls.
