UN Report says how Delta variant left havoc in India!

The Delta variant was the major concern for many nations as it was the driving force of the virus spread when the nations battled the second wave. India is not an exemption to the deadly impact left by the Delta variant of the novel Coronavirus.
After taking various aspects into consideration, the United Nations gave an insight into how devastating was the impact left by the variant. In its reports, the United Nation listed many things to mention the havoc created by the deadly variant in the country.
According to the report, Delta variant had claimed as many as 240,000 lives across the country when India had a tough period last year. The United Nations also said that due to the variant, the country also had a tough time with the economy.
The report further adds that the economy also faced a severe impact with the Delta variant and expressed its concern that similar scenes might take place in India for one more time. This is a big concern as far as India is concerned.
The second wave was very tough for India. Record number of infections and casualties caused by the Covid were reported in the country on a daily basis. At one point of time, India gave tough competition to the United States when it came to single-day infections.
But India overcame the situation and the timely decisions taken by the government paid off and as a result, the cases and casualties came down rapidly. With the second wave of fear coming to an end. The lockdown and restrictions imposed across the country have been lifted.
The restrictions were not lifted at once. It was in a phased manner. In a slow manner, the lockdown was lifted under the unlocking procedure. The offices and institutions which worked virtually during the lockdown period have started to work normally.
However, the Covid-like situations started to prevail in a few states due to the threat posed by the Omicron variant. Festive celebrations were canceled and restrictions on public movement were imposed. Employees were asked to work from home until further notice.
