Ex-MP's Quarter Bottle Theory
By: Tupaki Desk | 3 Sep 2018 12:57 PM GMTUndavalli Arun Kumar exposed how much TDP Government has been looting the people consuming alcohol in the name of taxes. 'A Quarter Bottle of Cheap Liquor have an MRP of Rs 50. While Manufacturing and Transport Cost of this bottle is Rs 8.50, Liquor Shop Owner will have a margin of Rs 3.75. Which means, Rs 37.75 goes to the State Government per Bottle. A Quarter Bottle of another Liquor Brand DSP have an MRP of Rs 80. While the Manufacturing & Transportation cost of it is Rs 10.30, Close to Rs 70 per Bottle goes to the Government. That's how this Government has been looting the poor,' he explained.
The Former MP predicted Governments will collapse if Drunkards go on strike for a week. He recalls a movie scene of Comedian MS Narayana saying he isn't a drunkard but tax payer.
Undavalli opined reducing the financial inequalities between between the rich and poor should be the priority of any government. He accused the TDP Government of ruining the lives of poor by making them alcoholics instead of focusing on raising their living standards. 'This is why a poor is having debts even though he is earning Rs 500 per day & Rs 1500 per month,' he said.
