AP CM Chandrababu Naidu claimed TDP didn't gain anything from the alliance with BJP in 2014 Polls - 'TDP emerged victorious in the municipal polls before 2014 Elections. There is no difference in vote share of Municipal Polls and Assembly Polls. In fact, Telugu Desam lost 2 percent vote share and 15 Assembly Seats because of alliance with BJP'.

Describing TDP Chief as a biggest manipulator in the country, Undavalli Arun Kumar said: 'Chandrababu knew facts but he is making these comments to ensure that people assume TDP is so powerful and it has nothing to lose after break-up with BJP. In the Municipal Polls happened in Telangana at the same time, Congress won majority of the seats. Even TDP bagged many seats. What happened in 2014 General Elections? Municipal Polls are different from Assembly & Lok Sabha Elections. Neither YCP nor TRS had put up a good show in municipal polls as they weren't strong at the grassroots level at that point. Whereas, TDP and Congress have existed for at least three decades to have good presence in grassroots. What happened in Assembly Polls...TRS formed government in Telangana and Congress had bitten dust. In AP, TDP came to power due to BJP and Pawan Kalyan. Even Chandrababu knew about these facts and hence he remained silent for four years'.

The Ex-MP recalled Chandrababu Naidu has blamed BJP upon losing power in 2004 despite continuing alliance until then. He opined TDP Supremo is repeating the same thing out of fear of defeat in 2019 polls.
