Flyover Collapse in PM's Constituency Kills 18

An under-construction flyover collapsed on a busy road in Varanasi, killing at least 18 people. A Mini Bus, Four Cars and Several Two-Wheelers were crushed under the concrete girder.
Heavy Cranes have been used during the rescue operation. None of them who were completely under the rubble of the flyover could be alive. Metal Cutters have been used by the Rescue Team to free the people who were trapped.
The tragedy happened on the busy road that leads to Varanasi-Allahabad Highway at around 4 pm. UP State Bridge Corporation Ltd is building this 2,261-metre flyover at a budget of Rs 129 crore. Portion of the bridge which collapsed Today was laid only three months ago.
UP CM Yogi Adityanath constituted a 3-member committee to probe the mishap. PM Narendra Modi express sadness over the loss of lives and claimed to be praying for the recovery of the injured.
