Unhappy AP High Court slaps IAS Officers with Jail Imprisonment!
By: Tupaki Desk | 31 March 2022 8:00 AM GMTCourts are regarded as the temples of justice as the people who were denied justice by the officials knock on the doors of the courts. The courts are taking the negligence of the authorities seriously and not shying away from slapping them with even imprisonments. This was proven many times. One more incident had joined the list with the IAS officers receiving a shock from the court.
This incident had happened in Telugu state Andhra Pradesh. The High Court had slapped as many as 8 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers with jail imprisonment as the court was not happy with the officials for not following the court orders. With the officials not following the orders, the High Court ordered jail imprisonment for them.
The IAS officers who were shocked by the court orders had pleaded to the High Court for forgiveness. Reacting to the request positively, the High Court had canceled the imprisonment. Changing the decision, the High Court ordered the IAS officers to serve at the welfare hostel once every month. This applies for one year.
Looking at the issue that made the court angry at the IAS officers, the court had earlier issued directives to remove the village and word secretariats from the school premises saying that such constructions cannot be allowed.
However, eight IAS officers- Vijay Kumar, Shyamala Rao, China Veerabhadrudu, Gopala Krishna Dwivedi, M.M.Nayak, Budithi Rajasekhar, Srilakshmi, Girija Shankar did not implement the orders. Unhappy with this, the court slapped them with imprisonment of not less than two weeks.
After the IAS officers pleaded with the Court, the High Court had changed its orders and directed the officials to dedicate one day every month to do service at the welfare hostel.
It has to be mentioned here that back in September last year, the High Court slapped four IAS officers with a fine and jail term on the same grounds. With the officers not following the orders, the High Court took the shocking decision. In the previous incident too, the Andhra Pradesh High Court slapped the IAS officers with a jail term of two weeks along with a fine.
