Cinema Halls, Malls & Restaurants to be open 24*7

Union Cabinet gave its nod for the Model Shops and Establishments Law Yesterday which permits Cinema Halls, Shopping Malls, Restaurants, Banks and Shops to operate 24 hours a day for all the 7 days in a week. Establishments which weren't covered under Factories Act and having employees count of 10 or more might be brought under this Act.
The Union Labour Ministry is expected to recommend States to adopt the Act as it would generate more jobs and address the unemployment issue to a considerable extent. Even Women will be allowed to work night shifts and there is absolutely no place for discrimination.
Model Shops and Establishments Law stresses Employers to provide facilities such as Cab Services, Ladies Toilets and Night Creches if women are hired to work during night shift.
