Union Government announces massive Covid-19 vaccination drive date

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to the microblogging site Twitter to announce the date of the start of the Coronavirus drive. He said the vaccine will be rolled out from the 16th of January.
'On 16th January, India takes a landmark step forward in fighting COVID-19. Starting that day, India's nation-wide vaccination drive begins. Priority will be given to our brave doctors, healthcare workers, frontline workers including Safai Karamcharis,' Narendra Modi tweeted.
In the same tweet, Narendra Modi shared a press release on the Coronavirus vaccine drive which says, the Vaccine drive will be started from the 16th of January. Doctors, healthcare workers, frontline workers, including safai karamcharis."
After the frontline warriors, people who are above the age group of 50, followed by the people under the age group of 50. The population of these age groups will be around 27 crore.
According to the government, the CoWIN app developed mainly for mobilizing the Covid-19 vaccines will play a crucial role in managing the historic vaccination drive in the country.
It is said that, so far, more than 79 lakh beneficiaries have already registered themselves on the Cowin app. The platform comes with three different manuals.
On the other hand, the potential vaccines to cure the Coronavirus will be given to the beneficiaries using their Aadhar numbers. The messages about the vaccine will be sent to the registered mobile numbers.
