Passports Of 33 NRI Husbands Cancelled

Union Government cancelled the passports of 33 Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) for abandoning their wives.
The Integrated Nodal Agency (INA) issued Look-Out Circulars to eight NRI Husbands who has been absconding. Secretary of Women & Child Development Ministry Rakesh Srivastava heads INA.
Women and Child Development Ministry is going to move a proposal before Union Cabinet to make registration of NRI Marriages within one week mandatory. Those who doesn't register will have to face penal consequences. New Clause to be included in Passport Rules so as to cancel the passports of absconding Husbands.
The Women & Child Development Ministry and National Commission for Women have been taking the grievances received from Women through email address nricell-ncw@nic.in seriously. NRI Husbands who abandon their Indian Wives will have a tough time ahead.
