Union Government Develops Mobile Application For Covid-19 vaccine Registration
By: Tupaki Desk | 9 Dec 2020 11:46 AM GMTFollowing the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus in India, the union government has taken all the measures to tackle the situation, including developing a mobile app Aarogya Setu to trace the patients who are positive for Covid-19.
The centre took one more step towards the pandemic handling and designed a digital platform that aims at Coronavirus vaccine delivery. The platform was named 'Co-WIN'.
The digital platform and mobile app which goes by the same name Co-WIN aim at real-time monitoring of the Covid-19 vaccine. The app was developed by the health ministry.
The platform and mobile app were designed in a way that the public can register themselves for the vaccination.
Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, who addressed the media on the occasion of the Co-WIN launch said the application will play a crucial role in monitoring the vaccination development.
The Co-WIN mobile application will be launched very soon for the users. Then the people can register themselves to get vaccinated with the vaccine. They can also record the vaccine date.
The Co-WIN platform will come in five modules as Administrator module, registration module, vaccination module, beneficiary acknowledgment module, and report module.
The administrator module is for the administrators who will conduct vaccine sessions once the potential vaccine to cure the pandemic is rolled out in the country. The registration module is for people who want to register themselves for vaccination.
The Vaccination module in the application will come in handy for the people who want to verify the beneficiary details and update the vaccination status.
The mobile application for vaccine came when the clinical trials of the potential vaccine by three pharma giants are in the final stage. Pfizer, Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech are confident of manufacturing the vaccine and they are said to have applied for the authorisation of their respective vaccine doses.
